charlecote watermill

I finally got to visit Charlecote Mill last monday when my friend Kathryn offered me a lift. The mill is one of only three working (as in producing flour commercially) watermills in the UK. Karl Grevatt has been the miller there since 2012 and if you ever wanna see what someone looks like covered in flour from head to toe …

The building and mill is so physical; it literally moves with the workings of the watermill and millstones and gives a remarkable sense of the craft of milling flour.

Below are an image and a few videos. If you are ever somewhere along the Avon River go and take a look. Extraordinary (and thanks Kathryn).
